To allow a full range of movement and flow during stretching, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage treatment is performed on a mat laid on the floor, similar to Thai massage.
Each treatment is adjusted to suit clients' needs, whether that is relaxing, energising, soothing, deep or remedial.
The treatment is initiated with a sequence to warm up the body, which allows the session to become a moving meditation.
During the treatment, a mixture of oil and ayurvedic herb - Acorus calamus - in the form of powder, is applied to the skin.
Ground Acorus calamus, a root of wetland plant from the sweet flag family, stimulates the flow of blood, which not only helps to further warm up the muscles but also supports the body’s detoxing processes as well as giving a pleasant, warm, exfoliating feeling.
Hi, I'm Joanna
(they/them)
Massage therapist, somatic coach, and embodiment facilitator based in Moorgate, London. Nine years of hands-on practice across bodywork, coaching, movement, and energy healing.
MY BACKGROUND

Nine years of hands-on work has taught me how tension builds and holds in the body - and how to work with it rather than against it.
I have a strong grasp of body mechanics, but just as importantly, I bring deep attunement and compassion to every session. No two days in a body are the same - so before we begin, I check in with where you're at: physically, emotionally, mentally. Maybe you've come in for deep physical work but what your system actually needs today is slowness and grounding. Maybe it's the opposite. We work with what's true on the day.
My practice spans barefoot myofascial bodywork, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage, deep tissue, somatic coaching, embodiment facilitation, movement teaching, and energy healing.
These aren't separate offerings - they're threads of the same inquiry into what it means to be a human in a body.
MY APPROACH
Everything in my work moves at the pace of your nervous system.
Whatever we're doing - massage, energy work, coaching - we work with your breath and your body's signals, so that any shift happens at a pace that feels natural, never overwhelming, and actually integrates into your life.
Change that's forced doesn't last.
Change that's allowed does.
Different sessions offer different things. Bodywork, sound and energy healing tend toward deep rest and release - letting your system finally put something down.
Somatic coaching is more active: building the capacity to feel more, handle more, and move through your life with more confidence and agency.
Whatever brings you in, we'll find the right way to work with it.

A SAFER AND INCLUSIVE SPACE

I'm queer, trans, and AuDHD myself, so I have a firsthand understanding of how important safety, autonomy, and clear communication are in a therapeutic or coaching setting - especially in a situation as intimate as receiving bodywork.
My practice is client-led and consent-led, meaning you have full control over your experience. This starts with discussing the treatment in detail and going over your preferences, boundaries, and any concerns.
During the session, you're always encouraged to let me know if you'd like to adjust pressure, request changes, take a break, or if anything else comes up.
I also make the space as calming and sensory-friendly as possible. The lighting is soft, warm, and dimmable. I usually play gentle music, but silence is always an option. I tend to use light, natural scents in the room - and we can absolutely skip those if needed.
